On the 14th April 2018, we hosted another of our Dyno days, and the competition once again heated up for the top spot on our Dyno Leader Board. A huge crowd turned up to tuck into some freshly baked pizza and to see what the MINI scene had to offer, making it one if the best Dyno Days yet.
The day saw a pretty even mix of Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 MINIs on the dyno, and as usual there were plenty of stand out performances. Orranje’s R55 Clubman made an appearance on the day producing 267.7 bhp and 397.4 bhp and producing some serious flames. One R53 came for a Dyno Run after having a 15% Reduced Superchrager Pulley, an ITG Panel filer and an uprated Manifold fitted, on the day it made 192.8 bhp, however that wasn’t enough for this MINI enthusiast as they went away and fitted an Airtec Top Mount Intercooler to it and bought it back for another go, on the second run it made 218.4 bhp. While the intercooler alone didn’t add this additional horsepower it just shows how installing one can really maximise the potential of all the other modifications. However, the best horsepower came from a turbo charged R53 that made a whopping 492.8 bhp.
Both Quicksilver Exhausts and Forge Motorsport supported this event, and members of their team were around taking your questions. Two of our Demo Cars were out on display, Penny (R56 Cooper S) showed off her Quicksilver Exhaust and Polar Bear (R56 Cooper S) was displaying her full race spec as the team prepare her for the track this race season.
The event was one of the best yet so we want to thank everyone who came out to the Dyno Day and got involved, it was great to see everyone.
This is just one of many events that we will be involved with this season so keep your eyes peeled, but if you can’t wait that long that you will find us out on the track competing in this year’s Time Attack Championship.
