A Reduced Supercharger Pulley is one of the most cost-effective modifications you can make to your Gen 1 MINI. Here at Lohen, we provide the perfect solution for your MINI Cooper S, MINI JCW, and MINI GP.

Our Reduced Supercharger Pulleys are made to increase the amount of compressed air within your supercharger. A Supercharger Pulley is driven by a belt connected to the Crank Pulley which spins around to create a compressed airflow. This makes the Pulley spin even faster than the OEM Pulley, creating more torque in the lower rev range, and can lead to huge performance gains.

A Lohen Reduced Supercharger Pulley will give you a power gain (HP) from +15bhp - 22bhp on a standard MINI Cooper S, depending on the size. Whether you have a MINI Cooper S, MINI JCW, or MINI GP, our Reduced Supercharger Pulleys are made with precision to fit your W11 supercharged R52 and R53 MINI perfectly.

The reason why you would install a Reduced Supercharger Pulley is to increase the rate at which the pulleys spin together, generating more compressed air to mix with the fuel. This results in larger combustions of oxygen, heat, and fuel. When making this cost-effective change to your engine, you will need to change the belt which connects the Crank Pulley and the Reduced Supercharger Pulley.

Our Supercharger Pulleys are all made here at Lohen, from a conceptual drawing to a finished product, all done in-house at Lohen. Designed, manufactured, and installed at our headquarters in Eccleshall.

  • High-quality Aircraft-grade 7075 aluminium on the outer body - This grade of aluminium is strong and light

  • The inner hub is made from 316 stainless steel - This type of steel contains molybdenum which improves corrosion resistance

  • 10% lighter than OEM - reducing the rotating mass will help to reduce wear on the supercharger and improve response

When fitting a Supercharger Pulley:

Do I need an Intercooler?

Depending on your pulley size and depending on the application, whether you're driving track or road. If you are installing a 15% Reduced Supercharger Pulley for road purposes, there are no requirements for an intercooler. However, you will always benefit from having an Intercooler. If you are installing a 17% or 19% Reduced Supercharger Pulley for road purposes, we recommend getting an Intercooler unless you own a MINI GP. A MINI GP will only need an Intercooler if you are looking at the 19% Reduced Supercharger Pulley.

If you are installing a Supercharger Pulley for track purposes, we always recommend installing an Intercooler as well. Regardless of the size of the Pulley if you want maximum performance on the track you will need an Intercooler.

Do I need to tune the ECU?

The standard ECU will make fuel adjustments to cater for any size Pulley, this means that you don't necessarily have to tune your ECU.

What other parts do I need when fitting a Supercharger Pulley?

You need to fit a smaller belt from OEM, the reason behind this is because of the reduction in Pulley size.

We also recommend changing your spark plugs to a colder rated set. For road purposes, we recommend the Denso IK22 when installing any size Supercharger Pulley. For track purposes, you need an even colder rated set of spark plugs such as the Denso IK24. Finally, for extremely tuned cars with high bhp, we recommend the Denso IK27.
