K&N Performance Air Filter for MINI R53/R50
The K&N air filters are designed to achieve high, virtually unrestricted airflow while maintaining filtration levels critical to ensure long engine life. K&N performance air filters consist of four to six sheets of cotton gauze layered between two sheets of aluminum wire mesh: this media is then pleated and oiled to enhance its filtering capabilities and overall performance.
K&N’s high flow cotton gauze air filter is washable, reusable and built to last for the life of your MINI. The nature of the cotton allows high volumes of airflow and, when combined with the tackiness of the oil creates a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection.
Never Replace Your Air Filter Again
Handmade in the United Kingdom and in the USA using only the finest materials, K&N OE Replacement Air Filters are washable and reusable. Regardless of what you’ve heard, it’s almost impossible to wash your K&N Air Filter too much. At K&N’s testing laboratory, they have washed and re-oiled one K&N Air Filter more than 100 times and it still performs up to specification. Depending on your driving conditions, we recommend cleaning your air filter every 50,000 miles.
Engine Protection, Filtration
Anyone can flow more air. The trick is to flow more air safely. K&N take filtration seriously; their air filter media has been tested both in-house and by independent labs using the ISO5011 test developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers. In addition K&N test many filters both in and out of the OE air box ensuring proper fit and function.
The Importance of Oil
A K&N Air Filter is made of 4 to 6 layers of cotton gauze sandwiched between two epoxy-coated aluminum wire screens. The cotton is treated with a specially 'formulated' grade of oil causing tackiness throughout the cotton’s microscopic strands. The nature of the cotton allows high volumes of airflow and, when combined with the tackiness of the oil, this creates a powerful filtering media that ensures engine protection.

Lohen Recommends - No items to recommend
Returns and Refund Policy - Refunds are available within 7 days after delivery for products that are unused and are in original packaging. Special order goods are non-refundable. Products that are damaged in transit to or from the customer can be refunded up to 14 days after the product has been delivered. Products returned to us in imperfect, non-resalable condition will not qualify for refund. Products that are faulty due to manufacturing process are refundable under the manufacturers' warranty for a limited time specified in the manufacturer's terms and conditions. These do not apply if the product has been fitted incorrectly or mis-used, motorsport use could further reduce the manufacturer's warranty. If an order is cancelled or refunded the buyer is responsible for the return of the goods to such address as directed by the supplier and is at the consumer's sole expense. This does not affect your statutory rights.
