Join us for a dedicated MINI only track evening at Donington Park, an exclusive opportunity to enjoy circuit time alongside fellow MINI enthusiasts in a relaxed, supportive and level playing field environment.

With no mixed marques and no supercar traffic, this is the perfect event for both experienced drivers and those newer to track driving who want to build confidence at their own pace.

Event Details

Date: Wednesday 6th May
Time: 4:00pm – 8:30pm
Venue: Donington Park Circuit - National Circuit
Format: Open Pitlane

Booking - Book direct with MSVT here

This event operates on an open pit lane format, meaning you can join and leave the circuit as often as you like throughout the evening.

The event will begin with:

  • Noise testing
  • Mandatory safety briefing
  • Sighting laps

All drivers must complete the online safety briefing prior to arrival and check in at the circuit on the day.

Lohen will be on hand throughout the evening to support you both on and off circuit. While trackside repairs are naturally limited, we will have a small selection of tools and spares available if required.

Most importantly, our team will be out on circuit with you — and we’ll be offering passenger laps in our demo MINIs, giving you the opportunity to learn circuit lines, braking points and driving techniques from experienced drivers. Whether you're building confidence or chasing consistency, we’re here to help you make the most of your evening.

Vehicle Requirements

All vehicles must be MINI models and comply with the following:

  • Must meet MOT minimum road standards or current Motorsport UK safety regulations for track cars
  • Working three-point seatbelt or race harness required
  • Towing eye must be fitted prior to sighting laps
  • Vehicle must be mechanically sound and in good body condition MSVT reserve the right to refuse vehicles deemed unsuitable for the event

If you are unsure about eligibility, please contact us before booking.

Pre-Event Preparation Checklist

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, please check the following:

Tyres

  • Good condition with correct pressures - this is circa 32 PSI depending on the tyre used.
  • Allow time to warm up properly
  • Slick tyres permitted  but if these are used a Motorsport UK approved roll cage is required

Brakes

  • Pads and discs must have sufficient life remaining - probably the most important factor for enjoyment of the evening - Check out our range of track day road legal pads - the Pagid Street+ and EBC Bluestuff
  • Monitor condition throughout the evening

Engine

  • Check belts and fluid levels - Motul 8100 XClean or Miller XF 5W30 grades will be adequate for normal road use and the odd circuit day, for those that are more track focused try the Motul 5W40
  • Ensure the car is in strong mechanical health

Bodywork & Chassis

  • Secure and in good condition
  • No sharp edges
  • All seat belts fully operational

Towing Eye

  • Know its location - the standard MINI tow eye is sufficient we'd suggest fitting of both front and rear to aid recovery in the event of an accident
  • Fit before sighting laps
  • If you need a tow eye check these from Willans

Lights

  • Brake lights must function

Interior

  • Remove all loose items including boot contents (and spare wheel if necessary)
  • A basic tool kit is recommended although we will be present to assist we won't be able to lend out tools

Cameras & Recording Equipment

In car footage is permitted provided cameras are securely mounted using professional mounting systems. Suction or adhesive mounts must have a secondary tether. Equipment must not obstruct the driver’s vision. The MSV event team reserve the right to request adjustments or refuse unsafe setups.

Fuel

Track driving significantly increases fuel consumption, often up to three times normal road use. Please ensure you have sufficient fuel before each session. Running out on track causes unnecessary disruption and recovery procedures.

Driver & Passenger Safety

  • Helmets are mandatory for all drivers and passengers
  • It is your responsibility to ensure your vehicle remains safe and compliant throughout the event

Insurance

Track day insurance is not compulsory but is strongly recommended. Standard road insurance policies typically do not cover track use. Specialist providers offer suitable cover for track events.

This MINI only evening is about community, confidence and enjoyment, whether you're setting personal bests or turning your first laps at Donington. We look forward to welcoming you on circuit!
