The TTV Racing 5 Paddle Track & Race Clutch and Flywheel Kit is a focused drivetrain upgrade for MINI R52 and R53 Cooper S, John Cooper Works and R53 GP models with a manual gearbox.

Combining a 5 paddle cerametallic drive plate, performance clutch cover and lightweight single mass flywheel, this kit is designed for modified MINIs used for demanding track days and competition. It delivers direct engagement and responsive engine behaviour, prioritising torque transfer and performance under load over the softer engagement of an organic road clutch.

5 Paddle Cerametallic Drive Plate

The cerametallic friction material is suited to the heat and loading associated with repeated hard acceleration and demanding track use. Compared with an organic compound, it offers friction characteristics better suited to higher operating temperatures and aggressive driving.

The five paddle design provides a defined bite point and positive engagement, giving the driver a direct connection between the engine and transmission as the clutch is released. This makes it a purposeful choice for track and race applications where decisive torque transfer is a priority.

Lightweight Flywheel for Sharper Engine Response

The included lightweight single mass flywheel reduces rotating inertia compared with the original dual mass arrangement. With less inertia to overcome, the engine can gain and lose revs more readily, creating a more immediate response to throttle inputs.

For the driver, this helps with matching engine speed during gear changes and adds to the MINI’s responsive, involving character on track.

Built for Modified MINI Applications

Increased engine output places greater demands on the clutch, particularly during hard acceleration and competition starts. The TTV Racing performance clutch assembly and cerametallic plate provide a package intended for these more demanding applications.

For extensively modified engines or turbo conversions, the kit specification should be matched to the expected engine torque and intended use before ordering.

Designed for Track and Race Use

The paddle plate engages more abruptly than an organic clutch and requires greater care when pulling away or manoeuvring. The single mass flywheel can also transmit additional gearbox noise and vibration, particularly at idle and low engine speeds.

This kit is best suited to owners who prioritise track performance and direct engagement over refinement in everyday traffic. Installation and bedding in should follow TTV Racing’s instructions.
