Supertech Forged Pistons - MINI Cooper S & JCW N18 Engine
Supertech Pistons are forged from aluminium alloy for high performance and superior strength while maintaining low weight. Using a 4032 alloy (an aluminium alloy containing Silcon, nickel, magnesium and copper) the piston achieves a high temperature tolerance value meaning its deformation at high temperature is minimal.
The Supertech N18 MINI Piston is supplied in a variatey of sizes to suit the needs of the engine. For example, if a bore is required due to scoring, the oversized version 77.5 mm is available and compression ratio options are availble to suit MINI Cooper S or JCW or for tuning purposes.
The pistons are also available in different compression ratios as follows:
- 10:1 for the N18 JCW engine
- 10.5:1 for the N18 Cooper S engine
- The 10:1 compression ratio can be installed into the Cooper S N18 also it is advisable to couple this with an ECU tune to ensure running and get the most out of the engine build. The piston is slightly shorter so there are no fouling issues when using the standard MINI camshaft. Other camshafts may require piston machining.
Why should I install Supertech forged pistons?
Forged pistons provide a stronger alternative to the standard piston found in the N18 Cooper S and JCW engine. The increased strength allows for a more durable engine and one that allows engine tuning to be pushed further in a safer manner.
The Supertech pistons are suitable for the N18 MINI engine found in the Cooper S 2010 - 2012 and the JCW and GP2 2012-2013
Standard MINI N18 engine bore size is 77 mm.
Q. Do I need new connecting rods?
A. No. These will run with the standard MINI connecting rods but they are suitable for use with Supertech forged connecting rods that will improve strength of the engine further.

Fitting Time - From 2 days
Required Additional Items/Services - Block honing will be required to accommodate the forged piston regardless of size.

Returns and Refund Policy - Refunds are available within 7 days after delivery for products that are unused and are in original packaging. Special order goods are non-refundable. Products that are damaged in transit to or from the customer can be refunded up to 14 days after the product has been delivered. Products returned to us in imperfect, non-resalable condition will not qualify for refund. Products that are faulty due to manufacturing process are refundable under the manufacturers' warranty for a limited time specified in the manufacturer's terms and conditions. These do not apply if the product has been fitted incorrectly or misused, motorsport use could further reduce the manufacturer's warranty. If an order is cancelled or refunded the buyer is responsible for the return of the goods to such address as directed by the supplier and is at the consumer's sole expense. This does not affect your statutory rights.
