On the 3rd November 2017, Lohen attended the MINI’s Take Over Goodwood event in support of St Barnabas House Hospice Charity. The event was a great success with an enormous amount of MINI owners attending making it quite the spectacle. With a showcase from Mulgari, LuxeMINI, various trade stands, and other owners groups there was plenty of MINI content for owners to absorb. Some lucky MINI owners had paid for track time and so got to drive on the Goodwood circuit alongside Sussex Road and Race who were doing charity passenger ride laps in their challenge cars, that, with the help of various other donations including Lohen raffle prizes made a substantial £2670 for St Barnabas House Hospice Charity.

Early Start

In preparation for the event, Lohen headed out to Goodwood on Thursday evening, and the day before the event ready for the early start. Goodwood is based in Chichester, which meant Lohen had a long 4-hour drive from its headquarters in Stafford.

Arriving at the Goodwood circuit at around 8:00 pm meant that our team had time for some food before getting some sleep in the Lohen race truck ready for the event.

Lohen Stand

Lohen got to the track nice and early at roughly 6.45am to get the stand set up so the team was ready to go before the MINI enthusiasts began to arrive. With the help of Craig, the owner of a monster turbo R53 MINI who kindly gave us a hand unloading, we had the show stand set up by half 7.

The Lohen stand showcased a variety of products that are sold both in-store and online including Akrapovic and Remus exhausts, Airtec intercoolers, OZ, Sparco and MSW wheels, Supertech, CravenSpeed, Alta, GruppeM and even some exclusive carbon fibre Duell AG parts which we were keen to get feedback on.

For the whole day at the MINI’s Take Over Goodwood event, one member of the Lohen team was on hand throughout the event on hand to answer questions to any MINI owner who needed help.

Track Time

Lohen showcased two of their demo cars during the event and had Chilli (R56 Cooper S) out on the track with 9 other MINI’s. She was out on the track for a solid 4 sessions taking in the beauty that surrounds the track.

Parade Lap

Halfway through the day the track was closed and a large collection of MINI’s gathered on Goodwood’s straight for the perfect photo opportunity.

As there was such a good turn out, not all visitors could fit on the track. However this part of the day created a great atmosphere providing MINI fans with the opportunity to get up close and personal with other MINI’s and get their feet onto the track. It wasn’t long before a small rev off began and the MINI’s were making their usual pops and bangs.

After an hour or so of MINI mingling and photo taking, the parade lap began before the track reopened for more MINI action.

Other MINI’s

As well as the track-focused MINI’s, there were plenty of show cars from MINI owners groups, LuxeMINI and Mulgari to get mouths watering. Mulgari gave the first public showing of their orange and grey ICON 2 MINI JCW and the LuxeMINI area had a beautifully wrapped F56, turbocharged r53 and a unique MINI R58 amongst others, whilst the other owner’s group stands had a mass of high-quality MINI’s lined up.
