If your MINI has increased power and/or improved grip (better tyres) over standard the clutch will have a harder job of transferring the power to the ground, while resisting the tendency to slip. Therefore clutch material and pressure need to be improved to makes the best use of all the available power in the car. The clutch kit includes the following components, Heavy duty clutch cover assembly, organic drive plate (clutch) and clutch release bearing.

Description

Helix ‘Heavy Duty Cover Assembly’ has a higher clamp load (pressure) than the standard cover plate, which can cope with higher torque and increased engine rpm that a modified engine will have. The clutch also has a firmer clutch pedal feel for quicker gear changes.
The Drive plate (clutch plate) used in this kit features a sprung centre which is suitable for road and light track-day/competition use. The design features damper springs arranged radially around the hub centre which together with the facing segments provides progressive engagement and a greater degree of clutch control. The organic facing material is the best high performance material available.
The kit comes in two different options road and race for both the One/Cooper and Cooper S. The Cooper S kits also have the option to suit standard or aluminium flywheels, the One/Cooper clutch kit will fit both types of flywheel. The One/Cooper clutch kit will only fit gearboxes fitted to cars pre 07/2004. If you change the standard flywheel after the installation of the clutch then alternative plates can be sourced to suit. Please speak to us if you need an alternative plate.

Please note that the paddle clutch option does produce more engagment noise than the standard MINI clutch or Helix organic option.

Q. Is the paddle kit suitable for every day use?

A. The paddle clutch option can be used on the road however it is not as forgiving as the organic option and is noiser than organic option. This really is down to personal preference.

Fitting Details

Lohen offers in-house fitting for all productsat our workshop in Eccleshall, Staffordshire. Here are the important things you need to know:

Fitting Cost - £450 

Fitting Time - Approximately 7-8 Hours

Required Additional Items/Services - Gearbox oil, driveshaft seals, driveshaft nuts, rear main crank seal 

Lohen Recommends - Combining this with fitting of a differential. While the subframe is down, why not fit Powerflex front wishbone rear bushes and sharpen up the handling of your MINI?

Returns & Refunds

Returns and Refund Policy - Refunds are available within 7 days after delivery for products that are unused and are in original packaging. Special order goods are non-refundable. Products that are damaged in transit to or from the customer can be refunded up to 14 days after the product has been delivered. Products returned to us in imperfect, non-resalable condition will not qualify for refund. Products that are faulty due to manufacturing process are refundable under the manufacturers' warranty for a limited time specified in the manufacturer's terms and conditions. These do not apply if the product has been fitted incorrectly or misused, motorsport use could further reduce the manufacturer's warranty. If an order is cancelled or refunded the buyer is responsible for the return of the goods to such address as directed by the supplier and is at the consumer's sole expense. This does not affect your statutory rights.
