It's becoming a common issue: rattly tensioner assemblies. One way to solve the issue is to replace the entire unit, although this can be a costly experience. One way to help prevent issue is to replace the bushes on the tensioner assembly to uprated Powerflex items. The increased strength and flexibility of these bushes means any wear and tear is absorbed, helping to prevent unnecessary damage and eventual replacement.

We identified a common issue with the supercharger belt tensioner damper bushes failing on the Mini Cooper S. This causes a rattling from the worn bushes. To replace the damper unit would cost of around £70.00 when there is nothing wrong with the damper, just the bushes.
